Meet Resident David | Oaks at Hampton

Mr. David was born in Franklin, North Carolina eighty years ago. He was so tiny that his mom joked she had to tie him to the pillow so she could find him! Of course, she, herself, was only five feet tall and weighed about 95 pounds. His mom went on to have three other children, giving David two younger brothers and one sister.

When she met her husband, William, she traveled the world while he was in the Air Force including Japan and other countries. Together, they have five children, Larry, Bill, Denise, Rhoda and Mary Frances. She is also a grandmother to many loving grandchildren.

Born in Bowling Green, Florida, resident Martha is the youngest of four children. Her father was a farmer who grew vegetables. Growing up, they moved around various places. Martha called her dad a “Stroke of the Night” kind of guy. Martha’s father joined the Navy when she was a child. While he served in the Navy, he received his barber's license, and once her father left the Navy, he worked as a barber.
