Technology That’s Improving Senior Care at Oaks Senior Living

Posted by Oaks Senior Living | 2 minute read

As the senior in your life climbs the staircase of life, they will become more fragile than they used to be. Even a simple fall could put your loved one’s health in serious jeopardy. Depending on their situation, the risk of no one being around may be likely and cause for serious concern. Senior care technology is a booming industry that could help ease some of your worries. This industry is constantly shifting and you may not have the time to keep up with it but we do! Oaks Senior Living understands your concerns and we are here to help put your worries to rest.

You’ve likely pictured that generic, unsecured, drab, and dreary nursing home with little to no security. That will never be the case at Oaks Senior Living. We have security features set up that don’t allow just anyone to walk in free. Our front entryway has a digital sign-in kiosk to screen and verify third-party vendors and service providers. We do a background check on all third-party vendors before allowing them entry. This background check includes a criminal record search, liability insurance, up-to-date immunization records, and we have them sign a liability waiver before entry. So you won’t have to worry about the security at Oaks Senior Living because we’ve got it covered!

Emergency Call Solutions

Our senior living communities feature a state-of-the-art emergency call system. Senior care technology is all about safety and we recognize that some Oaks Senior Living residents need more attention than others. If your loved one is one of these residents, we will take extra precaution with them and make sure they are safe and sound so you don’t have to worry.

The National Council on Aging states that 1 in 4 elderly Americans falls each year and the reality of the matter is that everyone has accidents. While there is no way to 100% prevent a fall, .our senior care technology does prevent your loved one from being alone after an accident and ensures they get emergency attention quickly. We have wearable emergency technology to help with this, as well as other options around their apartment that monitor movement, activity, etc..

24 Hour Staff

Having staff around the clock, 24 hours a day, is probably one of our best safety features. Our rooms are also fitted with smoke/fire systems so that our onsite staff members know of a problem as it is developing. There’s nothing worse than having an accident that immobilizes your loved one. This scenario has played out many times and it is exactly what our staff members are prepared to handle.

If your loved one is in their room and they have an accident, they can use our state-of-the-art calling system to contact a member of our staff. It’s as simple as that, we rush to your loved one and help them as soon as we can. A generic nursing home may have an emergency system but what good is that without on-site staff?

At Oaks Senior Living, we are here to help the senior in your life. Senior care technology is changing and we are doing our best to keep up with it to ensure your loved one’s safety and health.
