Congratulations to William “Bill” C. for being resident of the month for April at Addington Place of Dublin. Bill was born on September 17, 1925; and was raised in North Carolina. Bill truly has a “Servant’s Heart.” As a young man, he joined the United States Marines, where he was a Master Gunnery Sergeant. He served during World War II, Korean War and Vietnam. During the Korean War, he was one of the “Chosin Few” as he fought in The Battle of the Chosin Reservoir.Even after his 28 years as a soldier, Bill continued to serve others. He is a 33rd Degree Mason, an active member of the Disabled American Veterans (DAV), Scottish Rite, and many other local organizations.
One of Bill’s favorite things is music. He has always loved to sing, especially gospel music. As a resident of Addington Place, Bill and his incredible singing voice are known by the other residents, staff, volunteers, and visitors. He and his wife Jan, entertained everyone, almost daily, as Jan was an accomplished pianist. (Sadly, Jan passed away December 31, 2017).
Bill is also known for his quick wit and sense of humor. His kind heart and the twinkle in his eye make him a ray of sunshine in our community. Thank you, Bill, for your service, sharing of your talents and sweet spirit!
We are so happy to have Bill as a part of our Oaks family. If you are interested in joining the Addington Place of Dublin community, then schedule a tour today!
