Assisted living is a long-term care option that combines housing, assistance, and care on an as-needed basis. While the transition from private residence to an assisted senior living community can be difficult, it is a transition that can place your loved one in a better frame of mind and health.
Providing care for a loved one is a rewarding and joyful experience because it allows you to bond and cherish quality time together. However, as older adults age, it’s common for them to experience hardships and require additional assistance, which can begin to put a drain on primary caregivers.
If you and your loved one are looking for the perfect senior living community, you may have noticed that it can be difficult to find additional support and resources that reduce the cost of your senior living expenses.
At Oaks Senior Living, we believe that exceptional senior living communities should be high-quality, supportive, and affordable. We want to share some tips that you can use to help make affordable senior living easier to accomplish. Help your loved one start making steps toward finding the right senior living community today!
When caring for an older loved one, it can be hard to find time for yourself. The first step in maintaining emotional health, especially when caring for someone, is to practice positivity. Maintaining positivity and finding self-appreciation means starting a routine that is full of actions of self-love. It is also essential that the senior in your life feels the love as well. Fortunately, respite care programs are a service available to provide attention to seniors, while giving the family time to focus on themselves. With this new-found time, everyone can discover self-love.

Congratulations Mr. David, our October Resident of the Month! Mr. David has been a resident at the Oaks at Pooler since July 2017. We feel so blessed that we have the privilege to spend time with him and have the opportunity to get to know so much about his life. Mr. David has a devoted wife who is often found by his side, and the love they have for one another is infectious! Mr. David and his wife met and began dancing together 20 years ago, and they both still love to dance when given the chance! Last year, they had a great time dancing the night away at The Oaks Senior Prom and they can still be found dancing together when Salón de Baile hosts Ballroom Dancing lessons in our community!
